PRIVACY & DATA

Privacy policy

Videos and audio are processed locally in the app. Below are the website's data practices and the app's existing privacy policy.

Website data practices

This website introduces TuneGrab and provides its download link. It does not accept media uploads, offer account registration, use tracking cookies, or load third-party analytics scripts.

When you click the download button, the website increments an App Store button counter for the current UTC date. The database does not store IP addresses, browser identifiers, referrer URLs, or media. These counts do not represent completed downloads or app installations.

App Store button clicks are counted by UTC date and do not represent installations. Video parsing sends a public share link to its platform and returns available direct URLs; media downloads go directly from your browser to the platform. Links, media and platform cookies are not saved. To limit abuse, a keyed hash of your IP address or IPv6 network prefix and attempt times are kept privately in Cloudflare Durable Object storage for a one-hour rolling limit, with a UTC daily counter and short-lived concurrency leases. Expired records are removed during later requests.

Feedback submissions save the message you choose to share, its category, page language, a random form identifier used to prevent duplicate submissions, and its UTC submission time. They are stored privately in Cloudflare D1 for product improvements and are not published. Please do not include personal or sensitive information. To ask about your submission or this policy, use the feedback page and provide the relevant submission details.

To prevent abusive feedback submissions, the server temporarily keeps source IP addresses or IPv6 network prefixes and request times in process memory. These records are not written to Cloudflare D1 or application logs, are not used for tracking, and expired entries are cleared during later requests.

Hosting or reverse proxy services may generate access logs according to their configuration. The operator should limit access and retention. Use the feedback page below for questions. Apple's own privacy rules apply when you visit its services.

Website statistics are separate from app media processing. References to having no custom server in the app policy concern the app's media and account workflows; this promotional website does not participate in those workflows.

1. Key Information

TuneGrab is a local audio extraction tool that extracts audio tracks from video files selected by you and exports them as M4A files.

Core processing takes place on your device:

  • The App does not upload selected videos to our servers.
  • The App does not upload extracted audio to our servers.
  • The App currently provides no account registration, sign-in, cloud synchronization, or cloud storage.
  • The App currently has no server operated by us.
  • The App does not actively collect contacts, messages, precise location, microphone recordings, or camera content.

2. Information the App May Access

The App may access the following information with your permission to provide its features.

2.1 Video Files or Photo Library Media

When you select a video, the App reads only the video you choose through the system file picker or media picker.

Purposes:

  • Determine whether the video contains an extractable audio track.
  • Extract the audio stream using on-device FFmpeg functionality.
  • Generate an M4A audio file.

Processing:

  • Video files are processed only on your device.
  • The App does not upload video files to us.
  • The App does not read videos you did not select without your action.

2.2 Selected and Exported Audio Files

After extraction, the App generates an M4A audio file. You can also select an existing audio file through the system file picker, trim it on your device, and save a new M4A or MP3 file. Trimming does not overwrite the original file you selected.

Storage locations:

  • iOS: The file is saved in the App’s documents directory and is available through the system Files app.
  • Android: The file is saved in the App-specific directory and a copy may be published to the system music library, for example under Music/TuneGrab/.

Purposes:

  • Display extracted files in the App.
  • Support preview, sharing, and deletion.
  • Support audio trimming and clip preview.
  • Export files through the system share sheet.

Processing:

  • Audio files remain on your device.
  • The App does not upload audio files to us.
  • When you use the system share button, the file is provided to the destination you select. How that destination handles the file is governed by its own privacy policy.

2.3 Subscription and Purchase Status

If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by the app store. The App does not directly collect or store bank card numbers, credit card numbers, payment passwords, or similar payment credentials.

The App may read or use the following subscription information:

  • Whether an active subscription exists.
  • The subscription product identifier.
  • Purchase status returned by the app store.

Purposes:

  • Determine whether full audio extraction is unlocked.
  • Allow only the first one-third of the audio to be extracted without a subscription.
  • Allow the complete audio to be extracted with an active subscription.

Subscription management, billing, cancellation, and refunds are generally handled by the app store and can be managed through your store account.

3. Permissions

The App may request the following system permissions.

3.1 Photos, Media, or File Access

Purposes:

  • Let you select a video file.
  • Read the video you actively select.
  • On Android, save exported audio to the system music library.

If you deny a relevant permission, you may be unable to select a video or save audio to a system-visible location. Other files on your device are unaffected.

3.2 Network Access

The core audio extraction feature does not rely on our servers. The system payment component or store service may require a network connection to query products, make purchases, restore purchases, or update subscription status.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

In the current version, the App does not actively collect:

  • Account registration information.
  • Names, government identification numbers, or phone numbers.
  • Contacts, messages, or call history.
  • Precise location.
  • Videos or audio uploaded by users.
  • Usage records stored on a server operated by us.

If a future version adds accounts, cloud synchronization, analytics, crash reporting, or server-side purchase validation, we will update this Privacy Policy beforehand and request consent when required.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following system or third-party capabilities:

  • Apple App Store for iOS subscription purchases, billing, purchase restoration, and subscription management.
  • System file pickers, share sheets, and media libraries.
  • On-device FFmpeg functionality for local audio stream copying.

These services may process necessary information under their own rules. You can review Apple’s privacy policy for information about Apple’s processing practices.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Audio files generated by the App are stored on your device.

You can delete data by:

  • Deleting extracted audio files in the App.
  • Deleting exported audio through the system file manager or music library.
  • Uninstalling the App to remove data in its App-specific directory.

If you share an audio file with another app or person through the system share sheet, the App cannot delete copies held in those third-party locations.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not specifically directed to children. If your region imposes special requirements on children’s use of digital services, use the App only with the consent and guidance of a guardian.

8. Data Security

The App uses on-device processing to minimize data transmission risks. You remain responsible for securing your device, system account, and exported audio files against unauthorized access.

9. International Data Transfers

The App does not upload your videos or audio to our servers, so we do not initiate international transfers of those files.

Subscription payment information may be processed by the app store in different regions under its service rules.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy because of feature changes, legal requirements, or platform review requirements. The updated version and effective date will be displayed in the App or on its distribution page.
